When I was little, I had big dreams of moving up and out of the grey hell that Columbus, Ohio can be. Now that I’m (just a titch) older, I realize that our little city is chock-full of awesomeness. So on that note, today I’m thankful for:
We have micro-breweries and mom and pop start-ups seemingly on every corner, bars that care about their tap selection, live music, professional and college sports, tiny boutiques, a vibrant arts scene, people that give a shit about who you are, dog friendly parks, a freeway system that can get you anywhere (and I do mean ANYWHERE) in the city in twenty minutes or less, a newsworthy GLBTQ scene, great schools, and some of the best cupcakes I’ve ever eaten. We’ve got stuff we need to work on, sure (hello transportation), but we ARE working on it, and things are growing all the time. I like my home. It's a great place to be.
