Yesterday I was thankful for food. Today I am thankful for:
This weekend I had the distinct privilege of experiencing friendship at all its levels. I was able to call one of my closest friends on Friday evening in a moment of crisis. She immediately offered to come meet me and help me out during a jam. Saturday, I met a new friend for drinks, who also offered to help me with my ongoing situation.
OK, OK, "MY SITUATION" HAS TO DO WITH MY FUCKING CAT. I'M A CRAZY CAT LADY AND HAD CAT LADY ISSUES THIS WEEKEND. There, I said it.
After I hung with my new friend on Saturday, I met up with a couple of girls who are becoming better friends. The more I hang out with these cool kids, the more I like 'em. They're good people.
Sunday I got to meet another new friend for coffee. She's one of those people you feel like you've known forever the moment you meet her. We had a great time shooting the shit.
Then tonight, one of my oldest friends IM'ed me because of an offhand comment I made somewhere on the Interwebs. She saw through my crap and asked for the skinny. She's good people.
And yes, I'm looking forward to spending more time with friends over the Thanksgiving holiday, during our annual Thanksgiving Eve celebration. This year, I may even start a new tradition by mowing down some veggie dogs at Dirty Franks, since--thank all divine beings--they are opened on Thanksgiving.
I really do have fantastic friends. You can read more about them here.
